did everyone have one of these growing up in the 80s? I forget how it worked...it crushed up ice, but then did you have to supply your own syrup?

I had one of those growing up and loved the whole concept. I was thinking there were powdered mixes that were included to make the syprup. Well..I looked it up and it includes those powder mixes. Yup, it includes the mixes - the cute machine is still made!

Here is a link to the older model:

Thanks for that link, stephtx! I vividly remember using a Snoopy Snow Cone machine, but the link brought back many forgotten details. As with many name-brand sort of items, I didn't have it...BUT my best friend did which meant I got to play with it! She had the Barbie Townhouse, too! : )

It worked on the same concept as the Salad Shooter, but with an ice cube sized feed tube. Drop in the ice, turn the crank, and the cheese grater-like cylinder shaved the ice. There were powdered mixes that came with it; once you ran out of these, Kool-Aid made with double sugar worked well. If you want to do a grown-up one, grab your favorite bottles of Torani or Monin syrup. Pineapple-passionfruit, anyone?

This post made me smile as I have fond memories of making snow cones in my snoopy machine. I definitely remember the hand crank and the syrups that you added to the ice. It's funny because while I didn't have an easy bake oven (my conservative father thought it was too dangerous), I certainly had the snow cone machine.
