Vancouver Suggestion?

We'll be spending one day in Vancouver in August. It's the beginning of our holiday, so we don't want to spend a lot. Any suggestions for lunch or dinner? Chinese, seafood, anything great. I've never had Dungeness(sp?) crab, and hear it's to die for. Any help appreciated!

    1. I really enjoyed Vij's (try searching on this board). Its fusion Indian, and very unique. However, it might be a little spendy...I think we spent around $50 Canadian pp last time we ate there....Is that "a lot."?

BTW, you will NOT likely find fresh Dungeness crab in August. Sorry.

Dungeness Crab is available here year round thanks to a long varied coastline and many many locations where seasons are rotated.

          Try http://www.joefortes.ca

I didn't know. Further south its strictly a winter thing.....

              Lucky you!!

            2. kirin for chinese(alberni st) and parkside(haro st) for a nice meal - don't bother with joe fortes or anything along robson until you get to the japanese restaurants (gyoza king, hapa izakaya) closer to denman - most target the tourists and it's mediocre food.
