I just moved to Tarzana and want to grab a nice breakfast/brunch in tarzana, but theres so much to choose from, whats best cece's,aroma, paul's,little cafe,etc..? help. thanks in advance. Also I was thinking of going to one for breakfast/brunch, then going to another one for cappuchino's and desserts afterwards, so which one has the best breakfast food, and which one has the best cappuchinos. thanks

  1. I am not familiar with the above breakfast/lunch places, however I have a rec for you if you like frozen yogurt. Tarzana is close enough to Humphrey Yogart in Sherman Oaks. I love that place. Please check it out, if you have the time.

There are also a lot of good Persian restaurants on Ventura Blvd. from Woodland Hills across to Encino.

There's a place called Jinky's in Sherman Oaks. I went once with a friend and had a nice breakfast there. :)

Okay, back to the topic at hand. I throughly dislike Aroma-- if you're not Israeli, don't smoke or enjoy a crowded scene, skip it. I also don't think much of their cookies, but have never tried their pastry. I haven't made it to CeCe's yet, but have read some positive reviews. More than Waffles is pretty good, especially if you like waffles. The Little Cafe is popular, well priced and aims to please. I'm just never all that excited by their food. I'm probably in the minority, as the place is always crowded. Give it a try. I also like L'Artisan Cafe (?) in the CVS shopping center at Louise. I think it's very good for breakfast and for pastry. Not so chaotic, but a bit pricier. I also like the Coral Tree at Encino Ave. Some items are terrific, some not so, but there's something there I like.
Loads of people like Jinky's too. I would suggest you try it.

Cmpucook is right.. stay away from those smelly stinky israeli places(smoke, horrible food, and crappy service) just being HONEST!!!

Head on over to the Inn at the seventh Ray on Topanga Cyn, you will be delightfully surprised by the amazing ambiance and the Heavenliest of foods in LA, Don't miss out on the most wonderful quiche!!!

Re. the rec. of Coral Tree, I've only been to the Brentwood location. The banana latte was really good. I loved it. I would definitely check out the Encino location, if I was in the area. :)
