Rec needed in Boise, Idaho

A friend of mine will be traveling solo in Boise on her birthday. Would like to arrange a long distance suprise dinner for her since I can't be there in person. I'm also comletely unfamiliar with the area. So I'm wondering if there are any nice, semi-upscale or upscale restaraunts in the area that could accomodate pre-paying and would be good for someone probably dining solo? I'm thinking I could buy a gift certificate locally from a nice national chainand she could use it there, but I'm not sure which chain. Or, if there are any local non-chain places that could accomodate something like this, that would be great too. Any type of food is ok, but bonus for a steakhouse as she loves a good steak.

Thanks for the replies - turns out I was slightly misinformed - she's flying to Boise but she'll be staying in Twin Falls, so I'm going to try and find something in that area. Thanks very much to both of you for your help.

There are 2 places that I know that could do that, Andrae's 208-385-0707 or Red Feather Lounge 208-429-6340. These are 2 great restaurants, Andrae's is Contemporary French and Red Feather is Contemporary Northwest. Both have great steak on the menu as well.

I looked at the website for Andrae's and noted that they have an outstanding wine list. Are there other restaurants in the Boise area with good wine lists?

You need to use the search line at the top of the page. Here's the link for a search for "Boise". It's good reading but not too many choices.
