BYOB in Park Slope?

savina May 24, 2007 07:43 PM

A friend is coming in from Philly tomorrow evening, and we were hoping to head out for a yummy dinner in my neighborhood when she gets here around 8. She suggested BYOB, but I can't think of any places off the top of my head. Does anyone know of any?

There's a newish Moroccan place on the corner of Lincoln and Fifth Avenue. They don't have their liquor license yet, and I think the food and atmosphere is pretty great. We've been there for brunch and dinner.

      From prior threads on chowhound:

      BYO restaurants in NYC:

      Corkage fees at NYC restaurants:

Lucali's and Tanoreen both charge nominal corkage fees ($5)

This topic has come up before, so do a search. As I recall, there's not much in the Slope, but a few in adjoining neighborhoods. We always bring a bottle to Fez, in Windsor Terrace, although they've applied for a wine license. If you have a really special bottle, call the restaurant you choose and ask if they'd allow you to bring it with you and ask for their corkage charge. You want to tip and/or offer the host a glass. That is only if its a really special bottle (time to open the 82 Petrus?).
