Beerhaus in the West Village/NYU area?
Anyone know the name of that beer place that I wanna say is in the West Village/NYU area and built to resemble something like a monastery. Very cool place I went to several years ago, but can't remember the name or where it is or even if it exists anymore. Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure what a monestary looks like, but Vol de Nuit is very unique! It's a Belgian beer bar on w4th st just east of 6th ave and is almost unmarked. You enter through open, red doors, pass a front bar that is sometimes open, cross a cozy courtyard, and then enter the main building, which is generally pretty dark. I believe they also have mussels and frites.

re: cimui
Burp castle apparently changed mgmt about a year ago. I haven't been there in about 6 months, but last time I was I was chatting with the bartender about some of the changes. I guess they're not going over the top on the monk theme anymore. They wear normal clothes. They're allowed to converse freely, etc.
I still like the place. It's just a little less kitschy/medieval.
