Lunch. French. UWS.

  • 5

That pretty much sums it up :-)

I'm looking for a place for lunch tomorrow in the West 70's or 80's. Preferably French, cause that's what I'm in the mood for, but I would take other suggestions. I'm leaning towards Bistro Citron...has anyone ever been?

PS I'm new here so be gentle ;-)

  1. I had lunch at Nice Matin recently. It was pretty good -- 79th and Amsterdam.

    1. Consider Nice Matin as previously recommended--if you order right it can be really good. Bistro Cassis is also good, reminds me of a small left bank Parisian bistro. I love the mussels & fries at Compass (the bar menu).

Compass is not open for lunch.

      2. Hey, ayissarose, Welcome! While there can sometimes be some bark to Hounds' culinary bites (puns running wild! lol), overall, we're a very friendly bunch.

La Boite en Bois, on 68th St., b/t CPW & Columbus Av., is true to its name, i.e., a teensy "box" of a French bistro, not in but very near Central Park. Good food and charming ambiance.

Wherever you decide to go, I hope you'll report back and continue to post.

        Enjoy and Bon Appetit!

        1. Thanks for the responses! I'll be back tomorrow with a full report. :-)
