Lunch. French. UWS.

I'm looking for a place for lunch tomorrow in the West 70's or 80's. Preferably French, cause that's what I'm in the mood for, but I would take other suggestions. I'm leaning towards Bistro Citron...has anyone ever been?

Hey, ayissarose, Welcome! While there can sometimes be some bark to Hounds' culinary bites (puns running wild! lol), overall, we're a very friendly bunch.

La Boite en Bois, on 68th St., b/t CPW & Columbus Av., is true to its name, i.e., a teensy "box" of a French bistro, not in but very near Central Park. Good food and charming ambiance.

Consider Nice Matin as previously recommended--if you order right it can be really good. Bistro Cassis is also good, reminds me of a small left bank Parisian bistro. I love the mussels & fries at Compass (the bar menu).

I had lunch at Nice Matin recently. It was pretty good -- 79th and Amsterdam.
