Flatwater or Park Grill? Or somewhere else?

For one day of my trip, we want to have lunch on a patio, not excruciatingly far from M Park, but does not have to be right there. I was thinking Flatwater or Park Grill, but all I see online are mediocre reviews for each. What do you suggest?

I've eaten at Park Grill, and I think it's very good. Not unusual in any way, but the food is very well prepared and the service is good too. And, as you note, it's got a nice atmosphere and a great location. I recommend it.

    I haven't been to Flatwater.

The view and atmosphere at both is great. I'd say both the food & service are better at Park Grill. Flatwater is great on a nice day, especially sitting on the river side patio though the service is pretty terrible and the food is overpriced.

Across the street from M Park is Gage Restaurant, an upscale english pub with terrific food, and huge beer selection, and nice variety of wines by the glass. Gage has a nice patio in front of the restaurant on Michigan Avenue. The place is really popular so consider making a reservation.
