Is There A Place In Chicago . . .

When I lived in Atlanta for several years, one of my favorite places was the Tavern at Phipps, which I return to on every trip. They have about 8 kinds of gourmet nachos (and I am a nachos fiend) - southwest shrimp, cajun, thai chicken, spinach & cheese, etc. Is there any place in Chicago that serves something like that?

I think Dorado's on Foster has duck nachos. As for a specialized place - I have no idea.

Actually, I do have an idea. Have you checked the menu for Carnivale or DeLaCosta? They may have it.

Maybe not quite what you're after, but Zocalo offers several different kinds of guacamole. That's the closest match I can think of. Although now that you mention it, it's a shame that area pubs don't offer something along the lines you've described.

Chicago has many, many authentic Mexican restaurants, run by Mexicans... too bad you're not looking for the real thing, you'd be in Hog Heaven!
