Lincoln Logs

What exactly did Carmen prepare for AJ, and is it as disgusting as it looked?

I'm so glad someone asked this! I was wondering about it. I'm from the east coast - I've never heard of this before!

I grew up in the town the Sopranos live in and I've never heard of them.

I grew up in Newark.... every kid ate these growing up. I have not thought about them in 25 years

Are they served warm or cold?

And, more importantly, do they taste GOOD? ! :)

They tasted good back then I have not had one in a very long time. They can be served warm or cold

      This might help: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/ind...

"Hotdog buns, either bolgna or hotdogs with cream cheese. It's an East coast thing. My family did it, too. My Mom used to tell me it was considered "peasant food""

Caution: there's a Sopranos SPOILER in that link for those who haven't seen the episode yet...

I, too, was wondering what a "Lincoln Log" sandwich was. I saw the tub of cream cheese, and the hot dogs and buns... but couldn't find anything on wikipedia or google or even here on chowhound a Lincoln Log sandwich.

        Thanks for clearing that up!

Here's more. Apparently NBC's Brian Williams grew up on them. (Caution, LOTS of spoilers here):

The container she used was cream cheese. So at the very least it was hot dogs split apart and filled with that.
