On our recent trip I ate gelato all over Italy (and have five new pounds to remember it by), and none of it was bad! But the very best was at Davide, on Via Giuliani in Sorrento. The zabaglione especially was so rich and really tasted custardy and winey. Their gelato seemed creamier than some others that I had. My husband loved a very intense chocolate he ate there--so dark it was nearly black. Their fruit gelati (I mean the ones with fruit in them, not the sorbet-type flavors, which I didn't have) were excellent too.
