Are there any Restaurants in St. Louis With a Gluten-free Menu?
I am an AZ hound and wanted to find out if there are any restaurants in the St. Louis metropolitan area that have a gluten-free (GF) menu. My wife is a Celiac, so she can't eat anything that has wheat, oats, rye or barley, or anything made from them. At times, going out to a restaurant can be very difficult, but we have managed at home by keeping a list of restaurants that understand this situation, and have found quite a few restaurants with a special GF menu (appetizers, entrees, desserts and drinks).
Can anyone assist us? We will have a car and will be staying at several places around St. Louis and St. Charles, so we can go just about anywhere, and we like all kinds of foods.
Thanks for your help.

You might try calling ahead to Terrene in the Central West End, www.terrene-stlouis.com. I don't find any gluten-free references specifically on its menu, but that's the kind of thing I think chef Dave would try to accommodate. 314-535-5100

re: bonwich
Thanks for the recommendations. We were able to find a website (http://www.bscsg.org/ ) that has quite a bit of information on restaurants in St. Louis that deal with gluten-free meals.
I wasn't able to find out anything about gluten-free restaurants on the www.enabling.org website, but thanks for the suggestion.
We had a wonderful meal at the Vietnamese restaurant Mai Lee, and they were able to deal with gluten-free options nicely.

There is a place in South City called The Shangri-La Diner. www.theshangriladiner.com/ I don't know if they are gluten free but they are vegan. They have a dowloadable menu you can check out. It's a very fun, funky place to eat. No bar though.
