Sweetwater Road Trip

Has anyone tried the new Sweetwater Road Trip seasonal beer? I'm curious, as I ran across it this weekend. What do you think?

It's a pilsner. The Taco Mac's around ATL have it on tap. I had one not too long after and thought it was good, but I'm not much of a lager drinker (except for a recent spate of O'fest drinking- Spaten's available year round).

It's not really a pilsner, it's an ale. The packaging says that they were making a pilsner originally, but that they "took a wrong turn" and added ale hops, forming the beer known as Road Trip. It's very tasty, sort of a lighter IPA type of taste. Not sure what the alcohol content is...I drank 4 bottles and was feeling great--drunk, that is. If you're a sweetwater fan--especially 420 or IPA, then this is definitely a beer for you. I would highly recommend it.

I'm not sure I follow your comment. It's not the hops that determine whether a beer is a lager (as Pilsners are) or an ale, it's the yeast.

I would also be curious to know whether the beer was lagered.

It almost sounds more like a Kolsch.
