Indian recs near Lower Greenville (Not Roti)

INOVII May 22, 2007 10:34 AM

I moved near Greenville/Mockingbird from Richardson area. Unfortunately I got spoiled w/ the good cheap Indian restaurants in that area. Namely Chaat Cafe was my favorite. I loved the in & out aspect too.

I have been to Roti Grill @ knox/henderson and found it good but a bit pricey compared to what I am used to. Also I like to have a variety or places under my belt.

Is there Dim Sum in this area too. I know about Maxim's etc. in Richardson just looking for other options around here.

You're SOL. I live in Uptown and trek to Richardson/Garland for my Chinese, Indian, dim sum, and Vietnamese cravings. Roti and Oishii are fair substitutes down here in the meantime, but there's really no good dim sum.

vktp is correct. There is very little down here and what is here is pretty pricey. I'd make the drive - it's worth it.

Our ethnic choices down here are terrible except Middle Eastern. Richardson/Garland is where it's at.

I can't help you with the Indian or Dim Sum, but I can tell you that Vietnam (4302 Bryan Street) has passable Vietnamese fare.

I have been to Vietnam a few times for lunch. Luckily it's close to my work. I also am a very frequent patron at Mai's down the street.
            Thanks for the imput.

I also go to Kalachandji's but thats not really Indian in my mind.

Being in Richardson, i am a bit overwhelemd with all the choices.

What are your experiences for the best cheap indian rstaurants? I am a particular fan of Samosas, whether African or Indian style.
