Also must mention Woodlands at 6040 South Orange Blossom Trail, (407)854-3330. Southern Indian vegetarian fare. I am by no means a vegetarian, but I can eat this food all day and never miss meat. Their Website isn't working, but Google woodlands, orlando, and you'll come up with a number of positive reviews.
There are, apparently, a number of different Woodlands restaurants -- al vegetarian Southern Indian -- but I have no idea if they have any relationship with each other.
Ther location may be a bit more conveneient for you than Garden Cafe and the ViMi District. I don't know the place VooDoo Lou is referencing.
Where are you in Orlando? There's a great vegetarian Chinese restaurant on Colonial Drive west of downtown called Garden Cafe. It's very creative, and most of their dishes simulate traditional Chinese dishes that use meat, only they substitute tofu and other things. I'm not vegetarian, but when my veg friends come visiting from out of town, it's the first place they always want to go. It isn't in a great neighborhood, but you won't get jumped in the parking lot or anything.
Orlando is known for its great Vietnamese restaurants, all concentrated around Colonial Drive and Mills Avenue, east of downtown. Most, if not all of them, will have vegetarian options. My favorites are Little Saigon and Lac Viet, and I highly recommend them if you don't have good Vietnamese food back where you're from.
