Looking for great coffee near Belden Stratford Hotel

I'll be in from New York this week and I'm looking for any place that serves strong coffee. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I understand the need for strong coffee. I've never had their coffee, but Mon Ami Gabi is a pretty good french restaurant in the Belden Stratford. They might have decent coffee. If not, you are a short walk to Clark street (one or two blocks west), and there is bound to be a Starbucks/Caribou/Etc. etc. nearby -- not sure that qualifies as strong though.

jj and bryan thanks much. i thought i had ventured into a wilderness with the question. i sort of googled the nearby starbucks locations as a last resort, but i was looking for something local if possible.

again, thank you both for your replies.

There's a Starbucks about a block away, but I don't think there is much of anything else for several blocks. Once you've had your first cup, head on up Clark to Broadway and check out Intelligensia, you'll love it.

Not sure if it is still around, but a quick internet search in the area came up with a local place called Sienna Coffee at 2308 N. Clark St. If it's still there, it is a short walk from where you are staying.

i totally lucked out. the person i was working with on my project had his own espresso machine. the sight of that little machine caused all my fears to evaporate.

thanks for all the suggestions. i'll be back, so i'll check out intelligensia and sienna coffee.
