Raja Sweets & Indian Cuisine in Union City?

Melanie Wong May 21, 2007 02:17 PM

Another poke-my-head-in-and-run while I was in the neighborhood on Saturday --- this had a full sweets and crunchy snacks counter inside. Also an extensive Punjabi menu for the restaurant and catering business, but no lunch buffet.

What do ‘hounds recommend here?

They used to have an Indian buffet some years ago. Try the Sarson Ka Saag (Mustard Greens), Makki Ki Roti (Corn Bread) & Pakodi Kadhi (Dumplings in chick pea flavoured seasoned Yogurt ). These are the Punjabi favorites that Raja in Union City is famous for.

I love sarson ka saag and makki ki roti, but there's not listed on the menu for UC. Might they be weekend specials? I also noticed samosas stuffed with chana instead of potatoes that sounded interesting.

We get it all the time. Its probably hidden somewhere in the specials. They generally take some time to make the Makki Ki Rotti though.
