Found (bought, and ate) local asparagus at various stands at Jean-Talon market - yesterday the sons of the late Mme Jiminez were on hand with their "semi-sauvage" asparagus for just $1 a bunch so I bought a few for a party tonight. I haven't seen white yet, but hadn't really looked.

Local leaf lettuce available too, and there are still fiddleheads.

Bought some ramps at Chez Nino - they were delicious!

Wild leeks - taste like cross between leeks and garlic. Very pungent but delicious. The season is very short and it is a native plant to Quebecand protected so the supply is very short. If you find them, buy them.

Saw white asparagus and fresh morrels at Jean Talon market in the produce shop on the south side, 2 doors down from shop selling tagines out front. Sorry can't recall the store name.
