Dining options in Baraboo, Wisconsin
Hi, headed to Devil's Lake State Park for some camping. Plan to spend one night going into Baraboo for dinner. Any good local resaurants that you can recommend would be appreciated. They can be on the expensive side or cheaper but having good food. Love fish but would do just about anything but pizza. Thanks!!
I was recently in Baraboo for an afternoon. I ate lunch downtown at the Garden Party Cafe - great location, nice service, so-so food (the pie was seriously mediocre). But I don't think they're open for dinner.
Most of the other restaurants I saw were chains, fast food joints, or bare-bones bars. I'm sure there's a nice place for dinner in Baraboo - I just didn't know about it.
If you want to drive over to Lake Delton (10 miles or so), I can recommend two places:
The Cheese Factory - Cheery place with good food (all vegetarian) and fabulous desserts.
David's Jamaican Cuisine
Tiny, casual, family-owned place with fabulous food.

Note: David's seems to be an outpost of this Madison restaurant:
If I had had more time, I would have checked out Ishnala or the Del-Bar (both of which have been recommended on this board). They're in Lake Delton, too.
