Place for a b'day dinner in northern NJ

We're looking for a restaurant to have a birthday dinner for an elderly relative in the Paterson/Clifton/Rutherford/Wayne/Parsippany/Morristown/Montclair/the Oranges area. Good food & service are essential but so are handicap accessibilty & convenient parking. There may be as many as 100 invitees. Any suggestions?

  1. It would be helpful to know your cuisine preferences and if there are any budgetary constraints. That said... You might want to consider Highlawn Pavilion, in West Orange. I've not been, but I am familiar with the cuisine of Executive Chef Mitchell Althouse from the time he was chef/owner of Jocelyne's, in Maplewood. So, there's no question in my mind that the food will be delicious. Also, Highlawn is famous for its sensational views of the NY skyline. You'd have to inquire about handicap accessibility and the parking situation.

I haven't eaten at Highlawn recently and wouldn't want to speak to the food (but drinks have been excellent). Per RGR, it's a lovely facility with grand views. They provide valet parking, and there seems to be plenty of room for a large party. I don't think there'd be any problems with handicap access, but I'd check.

Thanks so much for the quick replies. I've already contacted Highlawn & they are handicap accessible. This may be where we end up.
