Wilmington - outdoor dining?

rc1276 May 20, 2007 06:17 AM

I'm looking for a good place for a bridesmaid luncheon the day before my wedding this June. I'd love a place with the option of outdoor dining, with great food and a casual atmosphere.

Wilmington would be best, but other parts of New Castle County or southern Chester County would be okay too.

Harry's Seafood, at the Riverfront Market, is a good option. You get a nice view of the water. The food is excellent (on the expensive side, but the menu has a fairly good spread of more moderate options too) and atmosphere friendly and casual.

Upstairs on the deck at Buckley's in Centerville is also nice (more casual, a step above bar food). I'm not sure they take reservations for deck seating, but if so, that would be a good idea.

Thank you! I love Buckley's but didn't know they had a deck. I'll check that out.

Just 5 min from the DelMem bridge is The Riverview Inn in Pennsville, NJ. Great food and a casual atmosphere is what their deck is all about...and right on the river. Rt. 49 south, right on Main St. at the flashing yellow light...stop just before you drive into the river.
