You might want to try Leigh Ann's-- it's right on 1 in Marathon across from the airport. You can't miss the giant coffee cup sign.

thanks. we decided to keep driving and ended up at henrietta's, MM95. eggs benedict with crabcakes were quite good, though I had to get a second plate (to transfer my food) as my first was overly saucy. don't like over saturation. great staff there.

has anyone ever been to Marathon's Wooden Spoon or the Stuffed Pig? both places has lines out the door when we drove by

I just got back from a keys trip and we went to the Wooden Spoon for breakfast one day. It's a total greasy spoon diner type of joint, and our breakfasts were great. I had eggs, toast, grits, bacon, and a pancake... and I cleaned my plate. If you're not expecting much atmosphere and just looking for a great filling breakfast, I strongly recommend this place. We tried the Hungry Tarpon the following day, which was not nearly as good, but not bad.

Can't believe it's almost 2 years since I started this post. Let's talk about breakfast in the upper keys...mangrove mike's?
