We brought a basket home this afternoon...I'd swear they were picked this morning! Very green stems, tender skin and sweet flesh. Yummy! $5.00/basket...probably containing a pound (but not for long!)

Thanks. Did they have any estimates on when the Bings would be available?

Sorry, didn't ask. I will when I'm there again...I'm fortunate that we live about 5 minutes away!

Ohhh ... I'm jealous. I worked near there years ago and stopped by way to often. Hope you'll report when they get the Blenheim apricots and the Santa Rosa Plums ... you know, their own local stuff ... not the ones in the produce section.

The Olson cherry festival is scheduled for June 9 and 10, so they should have the Bings in by then. Local Blenheims are due around the end of June. I didn't ask about the plums because we have our own tree, and those are a few weeks away at this point. The Tartarians today weren't theirs and didn't impress me, but they had some very nice Brook cherries from their Morgan Hill ranch.

mmm... I wasn't aware that Olson has a "Morgan Hill ranch". But I do know Olson buys some cherries from AndysOrchard.com in Morgan Hill. I've been going to AndysOrchard for 3 years now. love it. Brooks, Black Republican (my favorite!!), Black Tartarian, Rainers, Bings.
