Went to the new Sunflower Vegetarian restaurant location at Seven Corners last night. The address and phone number below:
6304 Leeburg Pike
Falls Church, VA 22044
Started with the Japanese Style BBQ Kebobs & the Hot Hot Shabu Shabu - the Shabu Shabu won hands down - really yummy!
Also had our old favorite, General Tso's Surprise, Sunflower Forest and a Veggie Orange Chicken Chunk sandwich. The General Tso's is not as good as the original location, but still pretty darn delectable. The Sunflower Forest was really yummy - good texture and flavor in a lettuce wrap.
Will definitely go again soon, even though the server tried to shoo us out of the restaurant the moment we finished eating.
Slightly off topic, but if you're in NYC and in the mood for organic vegetarian Chinese food in NYC, Wild Ginger is phenomenal!
I've been waiting for the Sunflower Cafe at Seven Corners to open for a while, so once I read this post, I made sure to go there for dinner last night. I have to say that my experience was somewhat mixed. The Wakame Soup was marvelous, light and refreshing with an excellent ginger flavor. I also tried the Sunflower Forest and was very distinctly underwhelmed by it. I found the flavor to be somewhat muddled and the texture lacking. I have never been to their other location so I do not know if I just got a 'bad batch', but I did note that a woman at the table nearby had the same dish and was also quite disappointed by it.
That said, my experience was overall positive and the menu is varied enough that I will be more than happy to go back and find something more to my liking.
