Anything New in Arlington?

Hi All - Been a while since we've ventured into lovely Arlington for some good chow....
Other than the usual favourites on the board, what's new and different in the greater Arlington area?
Believe there was a new Brazilian restaurant opening up across the street from Blue Ribbon.
Anyone been?
Who's moved into the old Punjab (?) space in Arlington center?

Thanks Gang!

Dewey

PS: Anybody know how to search 'arlington' and get the latest posts?

Mifune is decent PanAsian, where the Viet's Cafe used to be. Plus, until the end of the month, it's 20 percent off.

I've been to Kathmandu Spice twice and really liked it. Love the spicy soynuts they give you as a mini-appetizer.

Well, it's not new, but Scutra just unveiled their newly remodeled and expanded space -- it's really nice and gives them some more breathing room. The menu is the same as before, so I don't know that it necessarily qualifies as an answer to your question. They have applied for a liquor license though, which they argued for in front of the Town Meeting a few weeks ago -- very promising!

The new Brazilian place is called Rio I think, and isn't yet open as far as I know...

Oops - I meant across the street from Sweet Chili...

Across the street from Blue Ribbon is Stop & Shop. :) The new Brazilian restaurant is down Mass Ave towards Boston. It's on the same block as Chilly Cow and Punjab (spelling?) Indian restaurant.

Further down Mass. Ave. is a Katmandu (again spelling?) I believe it's a Himylaian restaurant. It's really good. I was a little annoyed with them the last time I was there. It was cold out and I was there with another person. The only 2 person table was by the door. But there were plenty of 4 person tables around. We asked if we could sit away from the door at one of the 4 person tables, and they refused. We left because of that.

I'd really like to hear more about the food at Kathmandu. I don't know what good Himalayian food would be like -- loose curries, meat heavy momos?

Kathmandu Spice's menu can be found here:

We did takeout from there few months ago, shortly after they opened, and had a nice meal. The chicken momos were tasty (though honestly, in the realm of dumpling-type foods, I prefer the chinese style, like those from quing dao garden and wangs), as was the Lentil Bukhara. If I remember correctly, I think we also tried the mixed grill sizzler, which we liked. Frankly, we need to go back soon since it's right around the corner from us, and I'd like to try some more things from the menu.
