Made the mistake of having brunch at Boogaloo's again today - could someone explain what the appeal of this place is?! There's always a crush of people outside waiting, even if half the restaurant is empty. Do they do this on purpose?? The food just isn't that good and the service is awful. I waited about 15 minutes for someone to take my order, and sometime later was served a quesadilla stuffed with bland, reconstituted Sysco food service chicken breast and iceberg lettuce. Blech.

  1. Wish I read about Boogaloo's on chow before my friend suggested it. I would have to agree... not impressed. The menu sounded pretty good, and the waitlist made it seem like it was going to good... mistake. We had the chorizo hash and steak quesadillas. The chorizo hash was filled with potatoes and cheese... and barely any chorizo. It was served with black beans. The steak quesadilla had a marinated steak, which was definitely better than the chorizo. Definitely not going back.

      1. totally agree. I've only been there a couple of times, but have regretted it each time. One time I ordered the chinese chicken salad, which came covered with thick, sweet peanut dressing--seemed like peanut butter mixed with sugar and oil. inedible.

        1. The appeal is you can order bacon and your friends in tight pants can order their tofu vegan garden scramble, and then everything can feel like they're getting something hearty and healthy. It's right up there with Pork Store for an "I guess this isn't outright horrible, but not worth standing in line for, and I don't really want another bite" kind of a breakfast.
