Clam Chowder in or near Greenwich, CT

SarahSparkles May 18, 2007 01:03 PM

I have a friend visiting from Texas next week, who would like to go our for New England-style clam chowder while she's in staying in Greenwich. Does anyone have any good recommendations? Also, my boyfriend and I do not eat seafood, so ideally we'd like a place that serves non-seafood dishes.

I can't vouch for their clam chowder....but the Beach House in Greenwich may be a good fit for you all. Fun casual dining.

Amanda - funny you should mention it, BHC was my backup in the event that I wouldn't be able identify a great chowder spot.

      Thanks.

        :)

My only other thought would be to try Rowayton Seafood...but they have virtually one chicken & beef dish. However it doesn't get much more New England than this place....good luck!

Great spot, their chowder however is very Sandra Lee (only semi-homemade).

Legal Seafood's clam chowder is only a hop, skip & jump away in White Plains...

We ended up going to Beach House after all. My guest reported that the clam chowder was excellent, though since I don't eat the stuff, I can't confirm.
