Good black and white cookies?

  • 5

My coworker is having a birthday and she loves black and white cookies. Is there a good place to find these? And not the ones with think sugary generic frosting, I'm talking a light lemony glaze. Thanks!

  1. I wish you were my co-worker! Believe it or not, I recently had some fantastic, NY-style black and white cookies from Shaw's. The ones with the hard-shell, not the fluffy frosting.

Really?! That is so surprising! I will have to check that out.

Do you have a Dean and Deluca in Boston? They made yummy, hard-shelled mini black and white cookies. They are super cute and delicious.

If you are looking for outside of Boston, growing up my Mom use to get me the most delicious black and white cookies (what I called "half moons" from some pastry/bakery shop on the Lynn/Swampscott line right across the street from some funeral parlor. I literally wake up in the middle of the night dreaming about them sometimes. But I think these are more of the cakey version with lots of yummy frosting. You should try them anyway if you are out that way!

You can disregard my Lyndell's suggestion. I love their black and white cookies, but they pile the frosting high. No light lemony glaze in sight.

Wow! Thanks. Should have known it had been talked about before. Very helpful!
