Kosher Italian?

I have a friend coming in from Israel next month who is used to kosher and mentioned that his favorite food is Italian. Is there such a thing as an Italian restaurant that will be OK for kosher purposes and if so what is the best one? Thanks!

You might try La Gondola on wilshire

...i've only had the halibut, (don't eat meat) and it's been at least 6 years so can't speak to recent experience. I remember the food was good, not exceptional. Others liked their veal and chicken - comfortable with old style charm. I recall grinding pepper over almost everything because it needed a kick. My grandmother loved this place, mostly because they lavished her with attention....

gondola is kosher, and suppsoedly they have really great bbq beef ribs there, write back if you try it.

also, pat's on pico might have som italian inspired dishes.
