Gift Certificate Advice?
A colleague (from PA) is retiring and we wanted to give her a gift certificate for dinner in New Orleans that she can use when she visits her daughter who lives there. We'll have about $180 to spend. She has mentioned Commander's Palace and Dick and Jenny's as being a favorites of hers, but I thought we should pick a place she's not been. What about Brigtsen's or Stella's or Bayona? Thanks for the advice.

how about a gift certificate to The New Orleans Cooking Experience- you get the benefit of a hands on cooking demonstration, a gourmet meal cooked by a great local chef (Frank Brigtsen is one), and a tour of a beautiful petite plantation about 5 mins from the French Quarter
I just got one for a friend and she LOVED it...they can do them by mail + you get a great packet w/all recipes and instructions...just an idea for something different

Any of the three would be a good choice based on the restaurants she has mentioned as favorites. My favorite is Brigtsen's and some people might think it's a little bit easier since you don't have to drive into the French Quarter. (Commander's and D&J's are not in the quarter, either). Stella and Bayona are both great as well.
