        <content>Ingrediants: pork, water, turbino sugar, sea salt, salt, natural flavorings, lactic acid starter culture. Twelve ounces for $2.50 ... don't see an expiration date.

Haven't tried it yet, but I have tried Hormel's Natural Choice ham which Target sells. It was on the sweet side but not bad and I like the lack of junk in there.

Grocery Outlet has a few other regular Hormel products this week like boiled ham for 99 cents (small package).

      <content>I recently went to the Grocery Outlet in Oakland for the first time, mostly to look at wine. Wowza! It's so large compared with the store in Berkeley, the only one I'd been to. One lady admonished me never to tell a soul about the store. She exclaimed, "Honey, it's the Macy's of canned goods!"</content>

      <content>Yeah, the Oakland store is much bigger so the wine section is a lot better. That said, I am too lazy to go there often.

I was just at the berkeley store and got 5 lbs of Challenge organic butter at $2.49 a pound. </content>

      <content>I'm a little afraid of the meat at "gross out" so I didn't notice the bacon, nice find. My big thumbs up from this weeks trip are the Seeds of Change Mushroom Risotto for $1.99 and the triple chocolate Twix 3/$1.</content>

      <content>Had some bacon for breakfast this morning. It was good. Not an artisan type of bacon but very pleasing for a supermarket brand. Recommended. </content>

      <content>did my weekly reconnaissance to Oakland Grocery Outlet this afternoon and grabbed some goodies that might entertain me for the next few days:

- Gertie's Finest Pickled Green Beans, 35 oz. glass jar, product of Peru for PDM International of Aptos, CA. $1.49.  crunchy and spicy, nice;
- Salad Bar with Parsley &amp; Lycopene, 85% Organic. 8 oz., 99 cents.  oops. forgot to add that this is not a salad, but a bar of soap from Organic Sudz of Gardiner, NY. in a base of palm oil and glycerine;
- Cascadian Farm Kosher Dills with Organic Cucumbers, 24 oz. glass jar, $1.99. the pickles have a taste that is more subtle than the usual commercial and chemical pickles;
- Jarlsberg Lite Reduced Fat (50%) Deli Thin sliced Cheese, 24 oz. package, $4.49, package date Aug. 31, 2007. pre-sliced into 3/4 oz. servings.   2.5 oz total fat per 3/4 oz slice;
- frozen Mini Corn dogs, 10 oz. carton, $1.49. couldn't resist cuz they're veggie dogs from MorningStar Farms, lower fat and microwaveable. they do contain wheat gluten,soy, milk and egg ingredients and
- Nine Bean Loaf (veggie) from MorningStar Farms, 16 oz. carton, $2.99, with barley and green, yellow,black-eyed, navy beans and rice.

For those with a strong back and good digestion, they still have 1 gallon jars (128 oz.) of Farman's Barrel Cured Sauerkraut for $3.99. Couldn't find a date on the jar but it should be good until about 2017 or so.

Didn't see any interesting beers this time.</content>

      <content>This week's special is Hagen Daz mint and dark chocolate bars - 2 for $1

http://www.haagen-dazs.com/products/product.aspx?id=26

I bought one and it was very good. Couldn't detect any flaw.

Ice cream bargains are good this week. I was really tempted by the Blue Bunny spumonii which really had a lot of good looking stuff in it like dried cranberries but there was that HFCS so I passed ... $1.99 for 1/2 gallon.

Breyers is on sale for $2.79 for a half gallon and there was some sort of good looking banana type ice cream.

That bacon sold out pronto. I was going to by more to freeze and it was gone the next day. </content>
