Do I remember them!?! They're a staple! You can get them at most Bodegas.

thanks--I like the pink ones the best..

I agree -- the pink ones taste the best. My sister and I used to fight over them. A hundred years ago, when I was growing up, the package had one white and one pink Snowball. I'm not sure when this happened, but at some point both Snowballs became pink. (This might have brought harmony to our home, or my sister and I would have found something else to fight over. Icing roses were another battlefield, but I digress.) For certain holidays -- Halloween, for example -- they now come in special colors. But the pink ones still taste the best.
I was at Economy Candy on Tuesday -- not a Snowball in sight. Wherever they sell the classic two packs of Hostess cupcakes and Twinkies (not the boxes) they usually have Snowballs on the display. I can vouch for this, because this question ignited a major hunger for Snowballs in our home. If you can't find them, it might be because we got there first.

You may be right -- they may not ship them in the summer. But I promise the next time I see them in Manhattan I'll report back. In the meantime:

Sage in Long Island City makes their own version. They come in small and large and are 100x better than the packaged ones. YUM!

Just pink as far as I know. They are so cute (and tasty)!

Well, I've seen the Hostess snowball cakes come in pink or white as a default color, green (St. Patrick's Day), purple (for Easter) and orange(for Halloween). I had to indulge in the cakes the day I first read the thread.

I have found the pink snowballs in many bodegas in NYC but they all seem to be a bit flatter than the originals--maybe this week I will pick up a pack and check them out--

I love Snowballs and I know where you can find them! The Giant Bagel on University and 13th. Pink is the best flavor!

I've seen the orange ones for Halloween in a Park Slope Candy/Newstand when I went for my Lotto tickets. Cruise those places type of places.
