My ex absolutely loved the veggie burritos at taqueria coatzingo -- which i haven't had for a couple of years now. she was impressed by the presence of actual vegetables, rather than the usual beans/cheese content. the place is on roosevelt/76th in jackson heights.

We've been there, had some excellent quesadillas and chilaquiles- haven't tried the burrito yet. Do you happen to remember if they use frozen veggies (e.g., peas and carrots)? We had veggie burritos from El Cafetal (31st st. and Astoria Blvd.), and they clearly had dumped in a bag of frozen veggies. not good.

Well, we tried the vegetarian burritos at Coatzingo. Disappointing. It had the whole corn-carrots-peas thing inside. Not sure if they were frozen or not, but just not so great. Maybe we ordered the wrong thing - instead of ordering the Vegetariano, just ask for a rice and bean burrito? At any rate, I love the nachos there, and in the past have really enjoyed the quesadillas. But so far, the best meatless burrito is Tacos Mexico, and De Mole is great too (although I tend to think of De Mole in a class by itself).
