Italian Restaurants in NYC for groups

I have people visiting from out of town in a few weeks and I'm looking for recommendations for good Italian restaurants for groups (6-9 people) and also that are close to a variety of bars for after dinner. I was thinking the village or LES would be a good area. I'm a fan of Da Andrea, but I think it's too small and quiet for this group. Any suggestions?

Lil Frankie's on 1st Ave and 2nd Street. Get the vodka lemonade and the gnocci!

I don't think Frank, Lil Frankie's or Supper take reservations. The wait at all of them can be brutal, especially with a large group. It's worth a call seeing if they will do a large group or not.

Lupa takes rezzies though. Last I heard they were 50/50 walk-ins vs. reservations. That's a good option and there are lots of options near by.

Crispo is great, plus there's a little room on the side of the resturant with a table for six (or maybe its 8??).

Also, Rocco's on Thompson. Its been there for a thousand years (or rather 1917).
