okonomiyaki?

Any reccomendations for where to get good okonomiyaki in manhattan?

I didn't care for the okonomi-yaki at Otafuku but alternative purveyors are limited. I never made it to Sake Bar Hagi on W49th but I heard good things from friends who went and they have a version on their menu.

sake bar hagi is not to be missed. outside of the okonomiyaki (which is called something else on the menu, I believe), make sure to try the sardine & daikon salad.
      great place.

Hagi is a great drinking place, but the food isn't the real attraction. They're generous with portions, but that's about it. There are many comfort food items like the oknomiyaki, but it's not that good. The one at Otafuku is better, but that's not saying much. I'd much rather have one of their typical izakaya pasta dishes than their okonomiyaki. The okonomiyaki scene in NY is pretty dire, actually. But the good part is that it's really easy to make, so I hardly ever look for it when I'm out.

Otafuku E 9th St between 2nd and 3rd, okonmiyaki and takoyaki, take out, I can't say that they are really really good but they are good.

I also agree with Otafuku as well.

I've enjoyed them at 'go' on st marks place. Taisho makes them as well but I find theirs too mushy.
