open air asian restaurant in LES/nolita/soho
we're looking to have an inexpensive dinner somewhere in this area and enjoy the good weather. doesn't have to be outdoor, but at least have big open windows. any asian is good, although light is better-- thai or vietnamese, etc, or GOOD fusion. preferable if entrees are under $15.
we're not looking for chinatown-- but trendy/upscale isn't necessary either.
any rec's, hounds?
There's Tai Thai (1st and 1st) which is tiny but there are two tables right outside of the open windows. Not the best Thai around, but it is quite serviceable and cheap.
Kampuchea at Rivington and Allen has open windows but I wasn't terribly impressed with the food (we had a dry noodle dish and noodle soup and the grilled corn). There are sandwiches that range from 9-11 and maybe those are better dishes and a better deal than the noodle dishes we had. The atmosphere is quite nice though.
