Mother's Day Dim Sum at Uncle Cheung's

Before commenting on the food I have to gripe: Just because I'm white doesn't mean I have an unadventurous palate! I am so tired of having to convince waitstaff that I really do want a certain dish. Even with an Asian spouse I'm still given what I've come to term the "fork" treatment in countless establishments. That aside,

We (two adults and a toddler) shared:

radish pastry (always outstanding)
curry beef soup (I like it a lot but husband thinks it too heavy on the star anise)
dumplings with chili sauce (average dumplings, excellent sauce that balanced the chili with sesame, scallion, dark soy, and I think some black vinegar?)
xiao long bao (SO disappointing. I am used to a slurp of flavorful broth followed by a bite of gingery pork. These were more like mini pork buns. Hardly any soup.)
Shaghai Lo Mein (best in the area by far. I've waxed poetic about these in previous posts and today my extremely picky 16 month old gobbled them up which gives me even more reason to kvel.)
Sweet soybean milk for my husband.

A ton of food, $30 for it all. So much better than braving the Mother's Day brunch crowd.

East bound side of rt9 framingham near rt 126. I have some photos of some of the dishes and the dimsum menu on my blog.
