I went to a Spanish restaurant with paella that matched/was better than paella I had in Spain right outside of Chicago (so not inside the city proper) but have forgotten the name...anyone? They had little stuffed octopi

Possibly Emilio's in Hillside? (There are also 2 Emilio's in the city, but the Hillside location is the original).

Emilio once operated a full-draped Spanish restaurant named La Parla, I think it was, on Wolf Rd. not far from his original tapas restaurant.

Meson Sabika was actually established by Emilio, some time after he left Lettuce, but he sold it some years ago. Haven't been for several years, but always liked it very much. We gathered the entire family there for our 45th wedding anniversary dinner, but that was a while ago. Naperville, however, is hardly "right outside Chicago."
