Best Bartenders in LA

Having had many great experiences with the bar at Hungry Cat, I was wondering where else can I go for a well made and imaginative cocktail. Prefer places with squeezed juices and house-made syrups and more than your usual Absoluts and Cuervos. I've heard the bartender at Social is pretty good. Anywhere else?

Abode in Santa Monica has very imaginative cocktails.

I like the margaritas at Taco Rosa in Newport Beach. They use fresh fruit to make the drinks, which is rare these days. Try their raspberry margarita.

I miss Vida - they always had great specials drinks - a different drink each night.

I'll second Robert at The Ivy - no one better.

I miss Vida, too! Great cocktails in a fun setting....with interesting and innovative food.
A real loss for the neighborhood.

Ryan, Wes and Kelly at Mixville (the bar at Edendale Grill in Silverlake) all know how to make good traditional martinis and mojitos. They have some specialty cocktails as well.

High end hotel bars like Polo Lounge and Bel Air have amazing bartenders - they lean toward the classics, but many classic cocktails are "new" to most people - have them surprise you.

Celadon has a lot of unique and imaginative cocktails. A lot of them are variations on classics but with unusual ingredients and they also have a section on the cocktail menu with just sake and soju cocktails.

Click on menu and then on cocktails for an idea of what they have. (They also do classic drinks.)

I was at Opus Saturday night for dinner, and we had some really nice cocktails. An excellent Martini (Hendrix) and a great rhubarb infused Mojito. Other drinks on their menu looked very good as well. The atmosphere in the bar is really nice, and they have a covered patio for smoking with comfortable chairs. I'd like to go back for drinks.

the bartender at JOE'S on abbott kinney makes a great mojito. i sat at the bar and watched him mix quite a few drinks while i waited for our party to arrive. he knew his stuff and everything was fresh. he made an greyhound and freshly squeezed the grapefruit.
