Mexican Food in Mission Viejo/RSM
I love Mexican food. I've been living in MV for a couple of years and still have not found a place I like to frequent. Rose Canyon is great for atmosphere, but the food is bland. Tortilla Flats -- the same. I like Javier's, but I'm gonna see if I can find something a bit closer to home. Chains are not my favorite... So, anyone got any places I should try on my quest? I'm thinking Mission Viejo, RSM, Aliso Viejo, Laguna Hills...

Las Golandrinas has amazing tamales. Try the Rajas Tamales too! Their asada or shredded beef quesadillas are good too. I like their chile rellano burrito too!
Albertacos across from Saddleback College has the best carne asada burrito north of San Deigo. Their rolled tacos are also pretty good.
Both places are take out, but better than the sit down places in the area and much cheaper.

I didn't care for Las Golondrinas or Taco Mesa but a place we like going to is a hole in the wall. We lived in MV for 5 years before we found it. It is the Maya Inn. It is located on the corner of Jeronimo/ Los Alisos. It is to the right of the Irish Pub. It is a family owned business but they are closed on Sundays(:

There's always Taco Mesa, which has locations in Ladera and MV. Little more casual, order at the counter type place, but still great food. There's tons of reviews you can find on this board; here's their website

For really casual sit down, try Tacos Ensenada on Raymond and El Toro in Lake Forest. They have all of the basics plus seafood.
For a little more upscale with fantastic seafood specials (lobster fajitas most Saturdays) try El Adobe in downtown San Juan. I'd stick to the seafod specials here.
