Soft Shell Crabs just in at New Deal

Pricy -- $3.99 each, but alive and kicking and the VERY nice guy will clean and prepare them for you and give you his recipe for cooking them.

This and Speeds, and you know spring is finally here!

  1. Right on yum yum. This afternoon I grabbed a couple, plus a hunk of the amazingly fresh sword and two of the European bass.

BTW, the very nice guy is Carl Fantasia. His parents are sweet too.

First day for live soft shells at J Hook's today today too. PFS didn not have them of the beginning of the week.

Thanks Bob. I got some scallops too -- perfectly fresh and delicous.

I've bought branzino...European sea bass..generally run 1-2 lb..great on the grill, cooked whole with a little olive oil, lemon and herbs.

worth buying when you see them.

The sea bass grilled up great last night. Simple to make!

BTW, Dante has this fish on its latest dinner menu.

How timely! Great to know - heading to Dante tonight.

        1. Thank you for the heads up. Where is this place? Enjoy the weekend.

622 Cambridge Street - about 1/2 mile from Lechmere Station.

          2. Saw soft shell crabs for $2.50 each at C-Mart in Chinatown, on ice, don't think they're live.
