This week, dining heavyweight Sandro Fioriti reincarnated his '80s Italian spot, featuring both hardy standbys and random fare like sea urchin ravioli and crisply fried Cornish game hen. The full menu's available 'til 2am, and at midnight bar guests receive complimentary pasta -- turning them all into dining heavyweights.
I went there a few days ago around Midnight. I had the pan seared cuttlefish with artichokes which were terrific. They were out of a lot of the menu items (since they jsut opened), including the sea urchin ravioli I wanted, so I ordered the Pennette with vodka, cream, and proscuitto. Didn't really like it, but I shouldn't have ordered it either, not really my thing. The straccetti was great though.
The place was dead empty, but the service was great. Free mortadella and parmesan at the beginning of our meal, and Sandro came out at the end with some free spaghetti with Pecorino and black pepper (or some such dish, not quite sure). It was good but I was full by that time, and couldn't eat much (he made a bunch).
