Finally got into Hatfield's

So now what to order??? Is the tasting menu the way to go or shall I order off the menu?Anything not to miss? Thanks.

  1. i love the poached halibut and if they don't give you the beignets for free...order them!

    1. If it's available, I love the chocolate mille-feuille.

      1. Oh, where to begin? The tasting menu is terrific, while the constantly changing three course market menu is also great and an excellent value.

        If you're ordering ala carte....

        I am partial to the frisee and smoked trout salad, while my husband is crazy about the foie gras. Also great is the ravioli (if it's squash-filled; the ricotta filling is fine, but not as worth the calories). Last week, we had the pan roasted New Zealand Tai snapper with apple celeriac puree, buttered mustard greens, and muddled citrus vinaigrette, which was amazing. If you're more of a meat eater, the lamb and hanger steak are outstanding too. If you do the tasting menu, odds are you'll get to try most of these things.

        The one absolutely unmissable item has to be the chocolate peanut butter truffle cake. It is flat-out fabulous.

        1. I just ate there and had the best meal I've had in LA. Got to try my friend's dishes too! The grilled octopus, Croque madame and foie gras were all amazing. Everyone loved the lamb, and I had the best duck I've had in a long time.
