What's new in SF?

I am a former Bay Area denizen returning in a few weeks for the first time in 2 years. We will be in town May 31-June 3 for a wedding (fortunately, the reception is a Chinese banquet, yum) but we have a couple of days (Thursday and Friday) free for the eating. We like everything, and are open to both pricey and less-pricey options. Any recommendations for new and delightful places we should visit? We'd prefer to stay in SF or the East Bay. Many thanks.

Bar Tartine. Great bread from their bakery and now that we're full on into spring, their salads should be good. Memorable appetizers include an excellent heirloom tomato with watermelon salad as well as monterey squid with pork belly.

          La Ciccia.

Damn, so many great new places, it's hard to keep track.

Perbacco. Luella opened about 2.5 years ago.

Bi-Rite Creamery's also new for ice cream.

                Ici's in Berkeley.

                  Indeed. And Pizzaiolo's in Oakland.

Quince opened in 2003, A16 and Bocadillos in 2004, so not new since the last time the original poster was here.

I'm actually not a big fan of A16. If you want great pizza, try Delfina Pizzeria which opened recently.

I understood A16's strength to be pasta.
