Any patio dining in Allston/Brookline/Brighton?
I was just thinking about it, and I'm drawing a blank. Any thoughts?

Yes, they've got a patio out back. That White Horse Tavern or whatever it's called on Brighton Ave. opens big windows. Fireplace has a few seats on Washington St. as does Public House. Besides Beacon St. Tavern, Ginza by has a small outdoor dining area as does Taberna de Haro across the street. Plus the Mexican place that I'm totally drawing a blank on the name. Audobon has one out back but technically Boston.

re: Joanie
Yeah, White Horse Tavern was the closest I could come up with in my immediate neighborhood. Never eaten there - is it any good? I'll admit it's not the kind of place I gravitate to.
I did remember Taberna de Haro after I'd posted - I kind of prefer a real patio to tables on the sidewalk, which I tend to find uncomfortably public as a dining space, butthat corner's not too bad and I do hear great things about the food.

re: Allstonian
I might be at risk of having my posts discounted for saying this but I actually like White Horse. I think the key is to have realistic expectations... if you go in expecting cuisine, you're going to be disappointed but their food is much better than what you'll get at Sunset (though that's not difficult). It's decent bar food for cheap. If you stick with the basics, you can have a decent bite there but I imagine you'll probably be disappointed if you get ambitious.

re: hiddenboston
Last summer I had lunch on the patio at Devlin's. I was impressed: well landscaped, complete with water feature. It was quite spacious, too. I am interested in going back to try the calamari (someone on another link said it was good). I remembered having the Gazpacho & it was nice. We sat under an arbor so you have the option of a sunny or shaded spot.
