Horseshoe Grille, North Reading
I had my kids to myself on Saturday while my wife worked, and took them to the Horseshoe Grille, on route 28 in North Reading. If any of you remember the "old" 'Shoe from a few years back, this is a much nicer place now -- it's been completely rebuilt, and is very upscale, but comfortable and reasonably priced.
I got the Sirloin salad -- very tasty sirloin tips over a fresh, crispy salad -- I'm not a salad eater normally, but I really enjoyed it.
Kids had Pulled Pork Platter, Caesar Salad, a "build your own" salad with grilled chicken, and Pulled Chicken Quesedilla, and they all raved about them -- seems like we'll be going back more often. I also noticed that they have beef brisket on the menu. I'm more of a ribs or chicken guy, but a friend of mine who's really into barbeque claims that no self-respecting BBQ place doesn't have a good brisket on the menu -- maybe someone else here has tried it and can offer an opinion?
Dinner for the five of us, with soft drinks for the kids and a beer for me came to around $60, which I thought was reasonable for the quality.
I am a frequent visitor to the Horseshoe for a drink after work, but normally only get the bar menu, I was surprised that the main dining menu was so good though. (BTW, for nachos, they have one of the better offerings around -- piled with pulled chicken or pork.)

You'd be amazed by how many self-respecting BBQ places don't have a good brisket on the menu. That said, as someone who's into BBQ, I wasn't all that impressed by the Horseshoe's brisket the one time I tried it.
