Looking for recomendations for your favorite restaurant in LA right

HI

I am looking to take a friend out Thursday night and Id like to strike a balance between great food, great wine list and great ambiance. Not too loud, but active, where the food is the most important thing. In our 30's love beautful environments and great service but the food should be the main thing.

Thinking maybe Grace, Jar , Chop, AOC. Ive been to Sona, Hatfileds, BLD, Tasca and Hungry Cat, Lucques, Mozza lately to give you an idea of my tastes..

Where have you had a great meal lately? We would prefer west hollywood/ Hollywood but will go anywhere for greatness...

Thanks!

...FUNNY I WENT TO OPUS TONIGHT BEFORE THE SHOW AT THE WILTERN...THE SNAPPER AND CHARD ROMAINE WAS EXCELLENT. THANK YOU

      2. Josie and Joe's come to mind. Opus isn't a bad option to consider either.

        1. I would second AOC. I went for the fourth time about a month ago and they had a farro salad that I find myself dreaming about. I've never had a bad meal there and find the service both relaxed and knowlegeable. Clean, fresh, thoughtful food that is remarkably wine friendly...good thing because the list is awesome.

            1. I'd go with Grace. Great in every way (although I also love AOC and Jar).

I must admit that I have yet to go to Grace...(pink faced) but it is on my list. Could you recommend a must try dish for my first visit?

They have a fabulous boar tenderloin.

              2. Can't go wrong with AOC but my current fave is Grace -- warm, welcoming and lovely space, good mixed crowd, the kind of place where you can really relax and sink into a meal. When I eat at AOC I like to sit at one of their bars as I find it more comfortable than their tables.

                1. Definitely between Grace and Providence. I think Grace's ambience is nicer, though depending on the evening, I think Providence edges out for food with the tasting menus. Now, there's an idea, eat dinner at Grace, dessert tasting menu at Providence.
