Lou Malnati's Lincolnwood?

I'm new to this board. I have eaten Lou Malnati's quite a few times. I really like it. I don't think it' s the very best dee-dish out there, but I think it's pretty good (i.e. better than the other chains).

I haven't been to the original Lou's, which I believe is in Lincolnwood (let me know if I'm wrong). I was wondering if anyone knew if the Lincolnwood Lou's was better than the other locations? I'm more than willing to head up there from the City if it's worth it.

  1. I'll only eat Lous at the original location. Totally different from the others. Try the butter crust.

I haven't noticed any difference between the various locations of Lou's.

Well, I sure have. It just doesn't taste the same to me at the other locations.

It sure does taste different. It is the crust. I think it has to do with the old pans. I once picked up a pie from a carryout location in Naperville, and it didn't even taste like Lou's. It was right after the location opened.

I also believe the pans were why Due's pies were what they were. No more, the pans have been replaced.

    2. I like the ones at the Lincolnwood location better too. Don't know why - just tastes a little fresher. However that could be all mental.

      1. I appreciate all the replys. I have hard similar thoughts. I will go try Lou's at Lincolnwood.

        I can't wait.
