Fun Place for Drinks & Apps

iamsam May 7, 2007 12:48 PM

A girlfriend and I go out a few times a month for drinks & apps/ a light meal. She works at Downtown Crossing, so anywhere around that area (Beacon Hill, Park) or even a bit further afield would be great.

Ways to woo us:
Relatively reasonably priced wine/ girlie drinks
Veg-friendly (fish is OK)
Fun atmosphere

9 times out of 10, we're at Silvertone. We love it, but would be interested in trying something new. Other places we've tried: Vinalia, Scollay Square (but had an awful service experience there and would not return), etc. I love Bin 26 but think it might be a bit quieter than we're looking for (i.e. we're catching up and dishing over a week's worth of drama!).

Any suggestions?

I haven't been, but Ivy has gotten pretty decent reviews by Chowhounders. And I always recommend The Good Life which is just off Summer Street on Kingston and has great food (eat in the bar area, the restaraunt area can be a little dull).

I went to Ivy last week. I think it would be a good place for some small plates. I went with a veggie and we had a salad for two, butternut ravioli, and gnocci. All of the bottles of wine were $26.00. You might like it.

The bar at Via Matta is nice.
