Petrossian or other?

Need a splendid, special place (midtown or upper east side, preferably) for an intimate celebration. I love ambiance & champagne as well as delicious food. What do you recommend?

I had brunch with a group of girlfriends last weekend and its wonderful. Food was great for the brunch price, the ambiance is beautiful but a little dated and service was really accomodating.
I was at JoJo on saturday and the ambience is wonderful as well especially on the second floor looking out of the french window, as was the food, which is less classic. However, it seemed to be deficient of two-tops which is a pity. If you have a group larger than 2, it might be a good choice.

I love Petrossian, and have for years. The service is lovely, the food and ambiance as well. You might also try Aureole on 61st, which I have been to several times and which has never disappointed.

I "second" Aureole; it's my most favorite restaurant for a special place for an intimate celebration. Food, ambience and champagne are the best!
